Burton Morris creates video game art
LUDINGTON, Mich.–The play surface of “Glory,” a new air hockey table from the Carrom[R] Company, was designed by Pop artist Burton Morris. Morris’ artwork has been seen on ads, collateral materials and products of companies including Anheuser Busch, American Express, Mitsubishi, Coca-Cola, Sony, AT&T, McDonald’s, Absolut Vodka, Hallmark, Microsoft, Heinz and Dubonnet, as well as on the television show “Friends.”
“We are very excited about this new collaboration and are honored to have this caliber of artist featured on our games,” said David Shilander, president and c.e.o. of the Carrom Company.
The “Glory” Air Hockey table is one of the products from the new Lightning “Pop Art Series” line. The series also includes “Power Forward” Dome Hockey and “Striker” Foosball–all featuring Morris’ play-surface designs. The complete Lightning “Pop Art Series” will be available to resellers by late summer.
